Para que este sistema se realice de manera exitosa, se requiere del compromiso y el apoyo de la gerencia. Posterior a esta etapa de implementación, se desarrolla la de consolidación, donde es importante el apoyo personal externo a la empresa para ejecutar tareas de implantación. Finalmente en SPCC fue necesario un cambio organizacional para la implantanción de MIMS.

Gracias a que Poderosa tiene la categoría de empresa tractora (de acuerdo con definición de Produce, que se caracteriza por su capacidad de arrastre y efectos multiplicadores al movilizar un conjunto amplio de empresas en torno a su cadena productiva), logró el cofinanciamiento del proyecto “Mejoramiento del sistema de agua para consumo humano del anexo Pueblo Nuevo”, para el que Poderosa aportó el 30% y un total de 19 empresarios mineros artesanales, el 70% restante del financiamiento requerido. El presente proyecto (RS Compartida) tiene por objetivo incorporar en prácticas de responsabilidad social a los mineros artesanales que están en proceso de formalización y trabajan con Poderosa.

Outokumpu Oy, es una compañía minera finlandesa que ha desarrollado un sistema de automatización en equipos de concentradoras por más de 14 años. Desde entonces, la compañía ha utilizado diversos equipos delimitándose actualmente a 10 concentradoras en operación, de donde cinco poseen sistema de control de computadoras y tres de ellas, contienen el sistema PROSCON. En este sentido, el texto describe la experiencia adquirida en el uso de los analizadores en flujo y el proceso de la automatización de las concentradoras para mejorar las recuperaciones metálicas, aumentar la capacidad de la concentradora, disminuir los costos de la operación y mejorar la calidad de los productos.

"Después de dos años de preparación para adoptar un sistema de gestión de calidad de acuerdo con los requerimientos de la norma ISO 9001:2000, la Planta LESDE de Southern Perú Copper Corporation en Toquepalay Cuajone acreditó su sistema de gestión de la calidad a su producto (cátodo de cobre) en la auditoría de certificación. En ese sentido, el presente trabajo señala la aplicación del sistema de gestión de calidad ISO 9001: 2000 en cátodos electrowon en la SPCC a través del diagnóstico, compromiso, planeación, capacitación, documentación, implementación, auditorías internas, preauditoría, certificación, visitas de seguimiento, participación del personal y las optmizaciones esperadas respecto a este tema. Asimismo, es importante integrar la gestión de la calidad en seguridad, salud, y medio ambiente y así lograr la certificación ISO 14001:2000."

El presente texto busca describir las experiencias adquiridas en la mina de Cerro de Pasco a través del uso del "scooptram" eléctrico "LHD" de 2.2 yds. cú., marca "Jarvis Clark, a fin de mostrar su aplicación en otras minas cuyos problemas y características se asemejan a Cerro de Pasco. Los objetivos del empleo de este equipo son: aumentar la productividad en las áreas minadas por el método corte relleno descendente-mecanizado, mecanizar parte de la mina con equipos "LHD", pese a los problemas de ventilación, las temperaturas altas y reemplazar estos mismos equipos por aire acondicionado. En este sentido, se logró demostrar la eficacia del equipo eléctrico, especialmente en el uso de minas antiguas y de mayor profundidad, así como se mejoró las condiciones ambientales de trabajo y el costo de mantenimiento de los equipos eléctricos resultó más económico que las de diesels.

La unidad de producción de Cerro de Pasco, perteneciente a la Compañía minera del Centro del Perú, cuenta con importantes reservas de minerales piríticos argentíferos que son tratados en la planta concentradora de San Expedito. Dicho concentrado es usualmente empleado como funderte en el circuito de cobre de la fundición de La Oroya. Sin embargo, dada la finura del material, su porcentaje se ha visto reducido. En este sentido, el presente trabajo señala una alternativa para recuperar la plata contenida en el concentrado mineral a través de un análisis mineralógico del concentrado pirítico. Posteriormente, se describe el proceso combinado piro-hidrometalúrgico que consiste en la tostación-lixiviación, precipitación con polvo de zinc y la refinación hidrometalúrgica. Finalmente como apoyo a la técnica señalada, se agrega el análisis económico para Centromin.

Pore-fluid/rock chemical interactions on both short and long time scales can produce significant pore structure and mineralic changes that can markedly alter transport properties, such as fluid permeability. The introduction of the chemical factor requires modification of experimental systems and methodologies developed for measurements in which chemical effects are minimal. Particular attention must be given to temperature effects, fluid chemistry, fluid/rock reactions and kinetics, fluid flow rate, and fluid/experimental-system reactions. The ability to obtain very low, steady flow rates at constant fluid pressure is important for study of some fluid/rock systems. Minimization of metal corrosion is of paramount importance and requires choice of proper metals, such as titanium, and certain Ti-alloys and Ni-alloys. In this paper, we briefly discuss the relevant chemical factors affecting system and experimental design. The primary focus, however, is on the characteristics of highly corrosion resistant metals, thermal and chemical resistant jacketing materials, and the attributes and limitations of various flow-rate and back-pressure control systems and flow-rate measurement systems.

Cryogenic grinding of Printed Circuit Board will bring less pollution, reduce energy costs, smaller particles, regular particle size, efficient process, separation various materials due to different fracture toughness. Systemic studies of recycling discarded Printed Circuit Board (PCB) by low-temperature modification and cryogenic grinding have been made in this paper. Firstly test mechanical property of PCB at different low-temperature, including impact strength, flexural strength, and shear strength. Do experiment on the power consumption of different cooling temperature, The results show that the average power consumption is lower between -30? to -60? and the average power is decrease in evidence at -30?. Use ZKB type double roll shear crusher to crush PCB to 20mm×20mm particle size, in a temperature range of -10 ~ -30? Used R type mill to grind sample to minus 3mm under different working condition, the average power consumption is decrease in evidence from -10 ? to -30 ?, power consumption is the lest at rotational speed is 1180rpm.

In this study, physical, chemical and microscopic characteristics of Celestine were investigated firstly. Based on which, the thermodynamic analysis of Celestine reduction was discussed. And the experiments of Celestine carbon-containing pellets used in rotary hearth furnace process were studied. The results showed that it is feasible to deal with Celestine by rotary hearth furnace direct reduction process. When the temperature is 1200°C, C/O ratio is 0.8 and holding times is 20min, the conversion rate of SrSO4 in Celestine is above 95%, the utilization rate of Celestine is nearly 100%. This study can provide theoretical and technical basis on economical and rational use of Celestine.

"High chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite is one kind of Fe-V-Ti-Cr composite ore resources, which owes high utilization value. Owing to lacking systematic study on the sintering of this ore home and abroad, effects of carbon addition and basicity on sintering process and sinter metallurgical properties, such as sinter yield, vertical sintering speed, tumbler strength, sinter machine utilization coefficient, and low temperature reduction degradation were investigated systematically under laboratory conditions in the paper. The results shows that, when high chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite proportion is kept unchanged as 13% in sintering feeds, sintering process index and metallurgical properties are the optimum under carbon addition 5.0% and basicity 2.70, which meets the requirements of blast furnace burdens. This research provides technical parameters for practical sintering production of high chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite.IntroductionHigh chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite (hereinafter abbreviated as hi§h-Cr V-Ti magnetite), in which Fe is closely symbiotic with Ti and isomorphous with V and Cr1'- l, is one kind of typical vanadium-titanium magnetite resources with high comprehensive utilization value but the difficulties are extremely high due to complex chemical composition and mineral structure. At present, the feasible and mainstream utilization process of high-Cr V-Ti magnetite should be the route of agglomeration-blast furnace smelting. Thus, sintering production is the foundation for high-Cr V-Ti magnetite utilization. However, till now there are few research documentations on high-Cr V-Ti magnetite sintering home and abroad. Under the above background, this study focused on detailed researches of high-Cr V-Ti magnetite sintering. Sintering process uses the powders or fine iron ores to produce artificial rich ore with good metallurgical properties 4l Solid fuel provides 90% heat requirement during sintering15J. The appropriate amount of fuel and flux should be added during sintering in order to provide necessary heat and maintain the desired basicity16l. That is to say, carbon addition and basicity are two key factors affecting metallurgical properties of sintering products17J. Therefore, the effects of carbon addition and basicity on sintering process and metallurgical properties, including sinter yield, vertical sintering speed, tumbler strength, sinter machine utilization coefficient, and low temperature reduction degradation, are systemically investigated under laboratory conditions in the study, on purpose to achieve the optimization of sintering process for high-Cr V-Ti magnetite."

"In recent years, the demand for measures to control liquefaction of existing airport runways and harbor structures has increased. However, from the perspectives of constructability and cost, application of grid-form deep mixing walls to these types of structures requires the formation of wider grid spacing as compared with conventional designs. In this research, we focused on the extent of liquefaction and ground surface settling when grid spacing is made wider than conventional designs. We conducted centrifuge model tests, and confirmed the liquefaction suppression effect when grid-form modifications involving wide grid spacing are adopted under asphalt pavement. The tests were conducted under conditions that included changing the grid spacing and groundwater level. When the groundwater level was high, an increase in water pressure was observed, even within the grid. However, when the groundwater level was low, the increase in water pressure inside the grid was suppressed. We also found that if the generation of water pressure can be suppressed, the amount of settling due to liquefaction can also be controlled.INTRODUCTIONOne construction technique used as a countermeasure to liquefaction is grid-form deep mixing walls. Grid-form deep mixing walls are a construction technique for which improved grid-shaped wall bodies are built into the ground below the surface using a deep mixing method. This construction technique minimizes shear deformation by surrounding liquefied ground with improved wall bodies, thereby preventing liquefaction (Fig.1). With conventional designs, grid-form deep mixing walls determine the grid spacing that can deter liquefaction based on a ratio of the grid spacing L to the improved depth H (ratio = L/H). Ordinarily, designs are implemented with an L/H ratio of 0.8 or less (PWRI, 1999).In recent years, a demand for measures to control liquefaction of existing airport pavement and harbor structures has increased. However, when liquefaction countermeasures are implemented at these types of facilities and structures, the construction work must be implemented while the facilities and structures remain in service. Therefore, temporal and spatial constraints must be considered. In addition, unlike conventional liquefaction countermeasures, performance requirements are such that, even if some degree of liquefaction is allowed, the performance is acceptable as long as the amount of settlement is within a predetermined value. Therefore, if grid-form deep mixing walls are applied to these structures, grid spacing that is wider than conventional standards is desired."

High voltage electrical discharge in water causes instantaneous release of accumulated energy into water. The experiment described in this paper regards the utilization of the electric discharge phenomenon in rock splitting. The pressure in the shock waves created by the discharge inside a small volume of water enclosed in solid rock causes stresses which can result in breakage of rock. Holes drilled in tested samples were notched in order to weaken the tensile strength of the rock and achieve a uniformly directed split. The influence of the notches was theoretically analysed and compared with experimental data. Results of the tests have been statistically elaborated in order to correlate the newly-created surface to the energy supplied.

Most laboratory sealant studies were carried out in 2.0 inch I.D. Plexiglas tubes of 9.0 inches height containing 4.0 to 4.5 inches reconstructed soil from an 0-8 or 8-16 inch soil horizon at the Lanse site. (When soil was used from the Kato site, the top soil horizon was approximately 0-4 inches. The 4-8 inch horizon was somewhat comparable to the Lanse 8-16 inch horizon.) A 20 mesh Saran or steel screen was placed over the rubber stopper with a bottom drain to a 100 ml measuring cylinder. In some earlier experiments a 1/2 inch bed of 1/4 inch pea-gravel was then added, but in later experiments this was eliminated as it showed no particular utility. Field soil samples collected by a shovel were stored in sealed containers and sieved through a 4 mesh screen just before use. (Moisture content was typically about 25% for A horizon soil and about 20% for B horizon soil.) The sieved soil minus roots was then added in increments of about 1 1/4 inches. Compaction was effected by dropping a weighted ramrod (1-7/8 inches O.D,) five times from a height of two inches. If about twenty tamps were used or if the soil columns were rapped vigorously while water-logged, compaction was high with no detectable percolation. Freezing such samples would then usually cause very slow percolation, e.g. 1-2 ml/day. Using this as a standard procedure, percolation flows were usually stablized after two to three days to rates of about 100 to 200 ml/hour. Percolate was recycled carefully to minimize disturbance of the soil surface. When percolation flows were about 100 to 200 ml/hour, various additives (sealants) were introduced to the moist column in two to three increments to maintain a slight head. Additive concentrations were usually 2-1/2% with some at 5% in earlier experiments. Typical use of 40 ml of 2-1/2% additive corresponds to 4400 lbs/acre. When no more additive was present as supernatent liquid, water washes of about 15 ml were then used several times followed by special additives as needed. More water washes were then used to maintain a head of about 1/2 inch. Percolate was collected in 100 ml cylinders to measure percolation rates in ml/hr. Turbid percolate was evaporated to determine amount of eluted latex. Percolate was sometimes checked for pH by Pan-pH Indicator Paper9,10 reading in 0.5 units. Surface tension measurements were sometimes made by a DuNouy tensiometer10 in experiments using a surfactant for pretreatment.

This paper describes the method of modelling rock mechanical problems on experimental models. Based on an actual experiment used as an example, assessment of the surface deformation due to undermining, the extensive possibilities of using a 3-D physical model and application results in practice are demonstrated.
