Exploration geologists commonly struggle to understand the technical specifications of remote sensing and field portable spectral systems. This often results in the selection of spectral systems that are inadequate for the metallogenic environment of interest, and in a myriad of processed imagery that rest uninteligible and unused.

The paper point out that there are two méthods in the design of the long auxiliary ventilation systems. These methods can be summarized as constant fan spacing and constant fan size. If the fans are placed at the end of the duct, leakage will increase due to the high combined pressure.Also The program called SERIP can be used to examine the effects of positioning the fans at varying distances along the duct and determine the appropriate locations.

In this sense, transport of mining personnel and mined material from increased depths causes no major problems, the number of hoists of considerable loading capacity still increases despite the increase in the shaft depth; the output per one mine hoist has grown considerably and high safety standards in personnel transport are provided (in the last 10 years no life was lost during personnel transport).

The nature of the gold-bearing fluid and the source of gold in sedimentary-hosted gold deposits of Carlin, orogenic or epithermal types is still matter of debate. Most authors point to magmatic/ metamorphic origin for the fluids, however, the properties of such fluids and their interactions with organic carbon – a common component in this type of deposits – are not sufficiently well known. Here we present a large set of novel geochemical, mineralogical and fluid-inclusion data obtained from the Algamarca Au-Ag-Cu epithermal veins, corresponding to lateral manifestation of the neighbouring sedimentary-hosted epithermal-gold deposit at Shahuindo.

The extraction of metals from ores is often an energy-intensive process, requiring either smelting or leaching at high temperature, or the use of large quantities of strong acids or bases that require energy to produce. These processes often produce wastes, in gaseous, liquid or solid form, which require treatment before they can be safely disposed, and this waste treatment requires further energy. Thus there is a need to develop more energy-efficient and environmentally-compatible methods. In this sense, the paper point out that ionic liquids are one such method, and that they can be used to selectively dissolve and recover native gold and tellurium, sulphides and tellurides.

El proyecto Shalipayco cuenta con 20 Mt @ 5.6% Zn, 0.5% Pb, y 1.3 oz/t Ag en recursos totales (M+I+I) a la fecha, consolidando por lo tanto uno de los más grande recursos inexplotados de mineralización de Zn-Pb-Ag tipo Mississippi Valley (MVT) en Perú. La dolomitización es una alteración que está asociada a los mantos mineralizados de Shalipayco y sirve como guía prospectivo. Cercana del depósito ubicase horizontes evaporíticos y brechas de colapso, que también pueden significar controles importantes para mineralizaciones MVT.

Con la intención de determinar si la Licencia Social para Operar (LSO) y la Rentabilidad Social (RS) pueden convertirse en criterios de valorización adicional de proyectos mineros, el presente trabajo se enfocó en desarrollar y presentar argumentos sólidos que permitan justificar su adopción o incorporación como criterios o métodos de evaluación y valorización, a la par de los tradicionales. Finalmente, los primeros resultados y conclusiones a los que se arriba, son los siguientes: tanto la Licencia Social para Operar (LSO) como la Rentabilidad Social (RS) representan criterios válidos para calcular y demostrar la sostenibilidad de las empresas evaluadas, generar estabilidad de las operaciones mineras y asegurar la viabilidad social de los proyectos, entre otros hallazgos de la investigación.

This paper point out the predictive performance of a relatively new learning model called the support vector machines (SVM) for spatial grade estimation of two grade attributes alumina and silica in a bauxite deposit of India. In developing the SVM model, it was trained with known input-output patterns of training data set which was derived by splitting the entire data set into training and prediction sets using Genetic algorithms (GA). The use of GA algorithms was made because it attempted to divide the data into two statistical similar subsets. The predictive performance of the SVM was also compared with the ordinary kriging technique using the various statistical indices including Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Error (ME) and the coefficient of determination (R2) on the prediction data set.

Este trabajo analiza los efectos de incorporar un innovador sistema de acarreo autónomo, para asegurar la sostenibilidad y solidez del plan estratégico de mina Cuajone. Se efectúa el análisis comparativo entre los sistemas tripulado y autónomo, en términos de seguridad, plan de producción, productividad y costos operativos; y se detallan los impactos en lo que concierne a modelo de gestión, infraestructura y responsabilidad social. Entre otros resultados, se concluye que una flota autónoma reduce en 78 % los accidentes de estos equipos, incrementa la productividad en 13 % y disminuye el costo operativo en 5 %.

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la eficiencia del Sistema Tohá —conocido como Lombrifiltro o Biofiltro Dinámico y Aeróbico— para el mejoramiento de la calidad de aguas residuales domésticas. Para evaluar los parámetros DBO5 y DQO se tomaron como puntos de referencia aspectos biológicos del agua a tratar, que pasó a través de un biofiltro compuesto de 4 estratos (aserrín, grava, arena y carbón), el primero de los cuales incluyó lombrices rojas (Eissenia Foetida). Antes y después de realizar el filtrado se realizaron análisis de laboratorio. Como resultado respecto de remoción de contaminantes, se obtuvieron cifras que implicaban reducciones superiores al 50%.

Se concluye que la excelencia operacional forma parte de una gestión integral del negocio y es recomendable tener un equipo de personas que la impulsen y faciliten.

El presente trabajo técnico nace de la necesidad que tenía Minera Yanacocha de ubicar los sectores más importantes para la realización de sondajes diamantinos, los cuales ayudarían a la confirmación o adición de nuevos recursos para el proyecto Chaquicocha Subterráneo, así como para establecer la línea base para operar la futura mina. Así, se analizan tanto los riesgos identificados como los controles a tener en cuenta durante el desarrollo de excavaciones mineras subterráneas en ambientes con alto contenido de azufre nativo y se confirma que es posible desarrollar excavaciones seguras en estos ambientes, a la vez que se establecen lineamientos generales para el desarrollo de este tipo de proyectos.
