The Sierra Mojada mining district is situated in western Coahuila, about 8 km. east of the Chihuahua state line, and about one-half way from the northern to the southern extremity of the state. It is at the terminus of the Mexican Northern R. R., 125 km. northeast of Escal6n, Chihuahua; also about, 240 km. due west of Monclova, Coahuila. The altitude is approximately 1500 m. above sea level. The Sierra Mojada valley is about 10 km. long, from east to west, with a width of 1 to 2 km. It is approached from the east through the Puerto del Oro, where the Mexican Northern R. R. enters the valley; the slope from west to east is gentle. The Sierra Mojada, of which about 300 m. is an almost vertical wall, bounds the valley on the south side; on the north side, the slope to the crest of Sierra Planchada is more gradual, rising only 200 or 300 m. above the valley. Water is relatively scarce in the district, and there are no running streams. The rainy season, usually beginning at the middle of June, lasts through July, and occasionally into August or September. In some years the rains fail entirely. The slope of the ground is such that nearly all the water immediately runs off. The arroyos along the flanks of the mountains are not very deep, but in heavy rains, sometimes approaching cloudbursts, a tremendous volume of water rushes down them, carrying large boulders. A certain amount of seepage collects in the agglomerate, lying below the conglomerate, and is retained in the local fractures. Some shallow wells have been sunk in this agglomerate, and one well over 150 m. deep was sunk on the Volcan ranch, supplying about 76 1. (20 gal.) per min. A considerable supply of water is collected in large earth reservoirs in and below the town of Esmeralda. In ordinary years this supply will last until January or February, after which the Volcan well has to be depended on until the next rainy season. Vegetation is scarce, aside from scanty scrub oak and other brush in the mountains, and a few mezquite, locust, pepper, and cottonwood trees

THE most unsatisfactory occurrences in the experience of a manufacturer are those from which he suffers damage and learns nothing useful. That there are such incidents, and that they occur with annoying frequency, is unfortunately true. An accident which can be understood and explained always carries some consolation with it. However bad the copnsequencee, one finds comfort in reflecting that they might have been worse, and that the knowledge of how to avert a more disastrous calamity from the same cause is worth what it cost. But when an accident occurs, which remains unexplained after anxious days of investigation and sleepless nights of reflection, and which is as liable to occur twice or twenty times, as once, very little satisfaction of any kind can be extracted from it by the most philosophical victim. Three such incidents have come under my notice in one establishment. Fortunately none of them were attended with very serious consequences, as no one was hurt, and the damage to property was slight; but in each instance, loss of life and great destruction were escaped by so narrow a margin as to make them extremely disquieting. I have recorded them in the hope, that from the experience of others maybe gained what my own careful investigations have failed to reach-—satisfactory explanations. The first of these curious occurrences was the bunting of a 16-inch pipe carrying air under a compression of about 1 pound. The pipe was made of light galvanized iron with soldered seams. Into it a rotary fan-blower delivered air, and from it smaller pipes were carried to the furnaces. The blower was run continuously. Neither the main pipe nor its branches had any connection with the gas conduits. Both air- and gas-pipes delivered into the furnaces; but although the gas was under much higher compression than the air, there appeared to be no good reason why, having free escape in case of leakage, it should ever make its way back into the air-pipe. The use of steam-stamps in the crushing of ore for the purpose of amalgamation has been very limited, and little has been written on the subject. As the writer has been operating a mill of this kind during the past year, it is possible that he may be able to present a few points in regard to mill-practice in this line which will be of interest. The mill herein referred to contains two Tremain steamstamps, a more detailed description of which will be given below. A bond and lease had been taken on a property on Cross mountain, Gunnison county, Colo., and the parties operating wished to prospect it thoroughly and did not wish to ship out the ore, owing to high freight-rates. They looked around to find some mill that would answer the purpose and not be too expensive. The steam-stamp in question was finally decided on, and the writer was employed to erect and operate it. The economy of construction was demonstrated at the outset. The stamps were dropping within ten days from the time that the machinery was unloaded on the ground. A large portion of this period was consumed in waiting for supplies and fittings which should have been on the ground at the Hame time with the machinery. Ore.—The ore to be treated was a mixture of white, porous quartz, with the decomposed and undecomposed oxides of iron and manganese in varying proportions, from the pure white quartz to solid pieces of the oxides. It appeared to be the product of replacement in a soft dolomite at or near the line of contact with a dike of porphyry. On careful examination with the aid of a microscope it was found that the gold was in the form of an extremely thin film over the surfaces of the quartz, making only a bronzy-yellow coating, quite readily distinguished from the film of iron oxide, which was also present. Introduction When one thinks about world metal economics today, it seems to me he must go beyond the traditional factors such as exploration, discovery, economic feasibility of development, management, labor, and the application of technology. These elements have been and will continue to be very important, of course, in making available the resources that experts believe the world will require during the remainder of this century. There are, however, some new forces as well as new or different emphasis on some of the old factors that could materially affect the development of the world metal mining industries. For example, in my own company two of the most significant considerations affecting our economics today have to do with foreign political decisions and with environmental concerns here in the U. S. -both of which play a far more significant role in our economic considerations than they did as recently as 10 years ago. After a brief look at some historical data and some projections of probable future demands for the world's major metals, I shall then identify and comment upon some of the factors that I believe will have an increasing impact on the future of the economics of our industries. I do not have any magic solutions to the problems we will face; nevertheless, we in the mining industries of the world are going to have to cope with these matters and find satisfactory answers to the problems they will create. The Past Although the age in which we live has been described as the atomic age, the space age and the computer age, we are, in fact, living in a metals age, and we have lived in a metals age for a very long time. The discovery of copper smelting, for example, is placed at about 4000 B.C. Gold was used in a primitive way before that. Other metals - lead, silver, tin, iron and mercury - were discovered and used before 2000 B.C. In all probability, we will be dependent upon metals beyond the vision of anyone living today. In industrialized nations of the world, man's mode of living is based to a great extent on metals, and it is extremely unlikely

THE composition and quality of finished steel depend upon selection and proportioning of the raw materials of the charge as well as upon control of furnace practice. This chapter deals only with the raw materials of the basic open-hearth process that are important in determining the composition of the steel or slay. They are the metallic charge, oxygen-bearing materials, fluxes, alloying and deoxidizing additions, and certain refractory materials used for maintenance of bottoms. Other refractories, which may affect the slag composition, are discussed in Chapter 3. Wide variations are possible in the type and composition of charged materials but certain limiting relations among the elements of the charge must be observed. Since the process consists essentially of refining by the oxidation of undesired elements, a balance must be established between the sources of oxygen and the elements in the charge that are subject to oxidation (see Chapters 2 and 7). For example, if it is desired to use a high ratio of blast-furnace hot metal to scrap, it is necessary to add an oxygen-bearing material such as ore or mill scale to eliminate the excess carbon and silicon that are present in the hot metal. An example of the opposite extreme is the use of a metallic charge composed entirely of steel scrap. With this type of charge, it is common practice to substitute burnt lime for limestone as a flux and to charge some carbonaceous material such as coke to avoid an excess of oxygen in relation to the elements of the charge that are subject to oxidation. Elements such as copper and nickel, which are not oxidized or eliminated by any other reaction, may be introduced into the charge only to the extent to which they are permissible in the finished steel. An example of adjustment of the charge for elements of this type is found in the use of steel scrap high in copper. In this case, metallic components of the charge other than the scrap should be low in copper, or a sufficiently high ratio, of pig iron to scrap should be charged to dilute the copper from the

EaRly in 1917, the United States Coal & Coke Co. secured options on several tracts in Harlan County, Ky., aggregating about 19,000 acres in area, and after careful prospecting by outcrop openings and diamond drilling, completed the purchase late in July of that year. This property is situated in the eastern end of Harlan County, south of the Poor Fork of Cumberland River, and extending across Big Black Mountain to the Clover Fork of Cumberland River, a distance of about 7 mi. (11.3 kg.). It extends from the Kentucky-Virginia line westward for about 6 mi. Looney Creek, which empties into Poor Fork, crosses the property for about 4 mi. (6.4 kg.), and as several of the seams within the property outcrop along this stream, it afforded an easy, and the logical, place for development. The property is on the northern side of the geological trough formed by the uplifting of Stone Mountain, on the southern, and Pine Mountain, on the northern side; the northern boundary along Poor Fork is practically at the base of Pine Mountain. This area has been described in various geological reports. The main seam on this property is the one known variously as the "C," Benham, Keokee, Taggart, and Roda; it is also called, by the Kentucky Geological Survey, the Kellioka seam of the western portion of Harlan County. This seam averages, in this property, about 5 ft. (1.5 m.) in thickness, although local rolls reduce this thickness considerably over small areas, and at the extreme western end of the property the seam splits. It is usually clean, although occasionally a small parting occurs within a few inches of the bottom of the seam; it is one of the best coking and gas coals in the United States. The average analysis of this coal is given in Table 1.

The year 1926 has seen few radical changes or developments in methods of drilling and handling oil wells, but it has been a year of steady progress and development in deep drilling and production methods. Probably the outstanding development of the year was recognition by the directors of the American Petroleum Institute of the importance of natural gas in the production of oil, and the Institute directors' resolutions in December, 1926, regarding regulation of gas production with oil by state legislation. This matter is extremely important and will receive the attention of the industry in 1927. Advances in Drilling Equipment The history of the progress of deep well drilling is the solution of problems as they have confronted the operator. As the prospects for deeper production have become apparent, methods of penetrating the earth to greater depths have been devised. Rotary Equipment Improvements in the construction and in the methods of operation of rotary drilling equipment have practically caused elimination of cable tools in California for all but shallow work. The rotary drill, from 1910 when it began to be a practical factor in California, has been making steady advances, first displacing cable tools for drilling to the oil sands in proved fields and later displacing the cable-tool outfit entirely. With the perfection of machinery for taking core samples of the formation penetrated, the rotary drill has become generally used for wildcat work, continuous coring being practiced when desirable. Deep Holes The use of the rotary drill has made commercially feasible the opening of oil fields at greater depths than was considered possible with cable tools. (written discussion).-The experience of users of pulverized fuel in metallurgical work, particularly for open-hearth furnaces, has demonstrated that high ash and sulfur in pulverized fuel are a detriment, the sulfur in the coal entering into the finished product; hence, in this class of work it is extremely important, when pulverized coal is to be used, that the coal be selected with care, and only those having low percentages of sulfur be used, in combination with proper means for combustion. I have found that no general statement can be made as to the cost of pulverized coal, each installation being an individual engineering problem and necessitating a varying capital expenditure; as each installation has its own power cost, the actual cost of pulverizing varies between wide margins. It has been found that no general rule can he laid down as to either fineness or dryness; for some uses a wide range is permissible in both factors, while some classes of fuel require different treatment from others. Anthracite, coke breeze, and lignite ash will, under certain conditions, form slag, the melting point of the ash from fuel of this character being practically the same as of that from bituminous coal; furnace temperatures above the melting point of ash must therefore cause the formation of slag. However, it should he noted that furnace temperatures attainable with this class of fuel are not usually so high as those from bituminous coal, which probably explains the statement that the former do not slag. In a well designed furnace, temperatures above 2250° F. (1235° C.) will be obtained with that class of fuel, and slags will be formed. Too much attention apparently has been centered on high CO2 contents of stack gases. A high percentage of C02 is frequently obtained at the expense of the brickwork, the furnace temperature being increased by diminishing the excess air; a high percentage of C02 thus simply means a small proportion of 02.

Procedures are described for scaling up turbulent friction pressure drops of inelastic fluids and laminar friction pressure drops of inelastic/elastic fluids in circular ducts. The laminar scale-up calculation method does not require the use of arbitrarily defined flow models, and can be performed directly from laminar capillary viscometry data, or by means of a numerical solution of the integral equation for Poiseuille flow, inputing true shear rate-shearing stress data from other simple shearing experiments. e.g. Couette and plane Poiseuille flows. The turbulent scale up procedure, based on the Dodge-Metzner correlation for inelastic fluids, requires evaluating the characteristic rheological parameters at the existing wall stress under laminar flow conditions. Since the wall stress is the quantity sought in a pipe flow scale-up problem, a trial-and-err or solution is indicated, and therefore a calculation method has been developed and programmed for a medium-size magnetic-drum-memory digital computer. Laminar flow data from other somces may also be adapted to this turbulent scale-upmetbod for inelastic fluids. Comparisons between predicted and experimentally observed friction losses for generalized Reynolds numbers ranging from 3 — 32.000 indicate an error band width of less than 10 per cent in circular tubes ranging in size from 0.5 to 1.89 in. in diameter. INTRODUCTION Considerable effort has been devoted to the problem of establishing an accurate procedure for predicting the laminar and turbulent flow behavior of non-Newtonian materials in pipes from data obtained with small scale laboratory or pilot plant equipment, as evidenced by the variety of reviews on the subject.1-3 Although there does not appear to be a universally accepted scale-up method for laminar flow, the various methods currently employed can be divided into two principal categories depending upon whether a functional relationship between shear rate and shearing stress is assumed, or whether a generalized correlation is adopted. The methods of Hedstrom4 and of Weltmann are typical of the first category, while the generalized correlation of Metzner and Reed6 illustrates the second category. Under appropriate conditions either approach yields a reasonably satisfactory description of laminar flow behavior. In contrast, the prediction of non-Newtonian transitional and turbulent friction losses is much more complex. For example, certain types of materials have been observed to sustain laminar flow at much higher flow rates than Newtonian liquids. When turbulence does develop, the level of agitation is damped to such an extent that the friction factor is lower than that of the original low viscosity Newtonian medium. Extremely broad transition regions and "diameter effects" have also been noted in the turbulent flow of certain chemically complex materials.' Aside from the latter complications, which are attributed in part to viscoelasticity, the existence of a variety of scale-up procedures for predicting transitional and turbulent friction losses is due principally to the chioce of viscosity parameter used in the definition of the Reynolds number. In contrast, Dodge and Metzner have demonstrated that the friction factorReynolds number relationship for inelastic fluids can be satisfactorily generalized provided the fluid property parameters are evaluated at the existing wall shearing stress.* However, the quantity usually sought in a pipe flow scale-up problem is the wall stress, and hence a trial-and-error procedure is required when dealing with non-power law materials. In this report we discuss two calculation methods: (1) for determining the wall stress, and hence the friction pressure drop, for inelastic fluids under conditions of turbulent flow by means of an iterative procedure, and (2) for predicting laminar friction pressure drops without recourse to arbitrarily defined flow models.

Gentlemen.-It is pleasant to be able to report that the year just closed has been a prosperous and successful one for the Institute. As is shown by the reports of the Treasurer and the Finance Committee, the business affairs of this organization are in excellent condition. With property valued at more than three-quarters of a million dollars, and with considerable sums in various funds and endowments, it is possible to spend on each member of whatever class $22.65 each year, more than the maxi- mum amount of dues received from any one, and substantially twice the average amount, $10.94, received from all. To do this has required close management and a strict regard for our limitations. In 1926, when the Budget was made up, the estimated expenditures for the work which it was felt the Institute must do exceeded the estimated receipts by some $14,000. At the close of the year, despite a number of unexpected decreases in receipts, it had proved possible to accomplish substantially all the work laid out and close the books with the usual transfer of initiation fees to the General Reserve, and still only reduce the cash balance $2,074.54. This was made possible by the hearty and loyal cooperation of the whole staff of employees and the extremely large amount of gratuitous service rendered by the officers, the members of the Divisions and technical Committees, and the membership generally. Even so it was impossible, because of limitations of funds, to undertake many things it is highly desirable for the Institute to do, and it was necessary to refuse the publication of important papers and committee studies, because of the lack of funds. PUBLICATIONS In an analysis of the income and expenses of the Institute published in the February issue of our Journal, MINING AND METALLURGY, it was pointed out that the largest item of expenditure is, as it should -be, for publications. Printing, binding, and distributing the various technical papers sent to the members cost in 1926 more than all the money received from dues, including the portion allocated as subscription to the magazine. Within the. year, the following volumes were printed and, with the exception of the second volume of TRANSACTIONS, which was mailed in January, were distributed : TRANSACTIONS, Volume 73, 1241 pages, covering papers on non-ferrous metallurgy, milling and concentration, non-metallic minerals, iron and steel, and the Institute of Metals Division papers read at the

The loss in toughness caused by phosphorus within commercial ranges was studied in AISI-SAE 1340 steel and in molybdenum modifications of this grade. The replacement of part of the manganese by molybdenum in amounts which maintain the hardenability of the standard 1340 grade was shown to counteract to a marked degree the detrimental effects of phosphorus. THIS paper deals with the effect of phosphorus on the toughness of 1340 steel and with the effect on toughness of replacing part of the manganese by molybdenum while retaining the same hardenability as that of 1340. In previous work1 a progressive decrease in toughness was observed when the phosphorus content of 5140 was raised from 0.020 to 0.036 pct; that is, from a moderate phosphorus level to one higher but yet within the AISI-SAE specification for this grade. The structural condition of the steel was tempered martensite. Toughness was evaluated by the transition temperature determined by V-notch Charpy tests. Replacement of a part of the chromium in 5140 by molybdenum provided a factor of safety against loss of toughness caused by phosphorus, especially where the steel was cooled slowly after tempering. Scope of the Study: In view of the improved tolerance for phosphorus obtained by replacing a part of the chromium in 5140 with molybdenum, it seemed desirable to investigate the possibility of obtaining similar improvement in 1340 by replacing part of the manganese with molybdenum. Heats were made at different phosphorus levels, in a series that began with 1340 and ended with steels containing 0.32 to 0.35 pct Mo with 0.82 and 0.90 pct Mn. The analyses of the heats are given in table I. In order to facilitate later discussion, the 1340 heats have been placed together in the order of increasing phosphorus content, and the molybdenum modifications have been grouped according to phosphorus

In my last report on Petroleum in Burma and India1, details were given of production and development up to 1932. It was pointed nut, that the only statements available for Burma were those published officially by' the Government of India in the Annual Review of the Mineral Production of India (Records of the Geological Survey of India), which are issued about 10 or 11 months after the close of the year. Operations in Burma are almost entirely in the hands of three companies—the Burmah Oil Co., the British Burmah Petroleum Co. (with its subsidiary, the Rangoon Oil Co.) and the Indo-Burma Petroleum Co.—and these companies preserve a policy of secrecy, so that details are not available of new wells, depth, wells abandoned, or of other figures, except in so far as the Government considers it advisable to publish the information in its possession. GeneRal Developments in 1933-1934 As predicted in 1933, there have been no spectacular developments and no new fields have been discovered. Nor are there any new indications of a likelihood of fresh discoveries. The policy of extremely careful exploitation. has been continued and intensified; production is being maintained at an almost steady level and can be so maintained for many years to come—indeed, it is the policy of the leading company to permit refinery and local market requirements to dictate the production required. Contrary to experience in practically every other part of the world, India has shown a slightly decreased demand for petroleum products—especially kerosene, but also for gasoline. The increased use of electricity would explain the lower demand for kerosene, but the falling off in the demand for gasolinc can only be attributed, according to the Chairman of the Burmah Oil Co., to the depression and to the incidence of heavy taxation. In India (including Burma) as a whole, production was 305,018,751 Imperial gallons in 1931 (8,714,822 U. S. barrels); 308,606,031 Imp. gal. in 1932; 306,009,022 in 1933 and is estimated at 308,000,000 in 1934.

This paper deals with the application of froth flotation techniques to the beneficiation of kaolin clay and phosphate slimes, two very fine particle sized materials. The kaolin problem involves the removal of a small amount of a contaminating mineral (anatase), while the phosphate problem involves the concentration and recovery of a much larger percentage of apatite. Due to these differences, and also different response to flotation, the two problems are discussed in separate parts of the article. An idea of what is meant by "Ultrafine Minerals Or Slimes" as used in the title can be had by an examination of Fig. 1. Particle size distributions are presented for a crude kaolin clay, a coarse fraction and a fine fraction. The crude kaolin as mined was blunged with water, degritted through a 325-mesh Tyler screen, and dispersed with sodium silicate. The dispersed crude was then centrifuged in the laboratory into the coarse and fine fractions shown in the figure. The distribution curves were obtained by the well known sedimentation technique of Casa-grande1 using a long arm centrifuge to obtain equiva- lent spherical diameters down to 0.2 p on the finer fraction. Fig. 1 shows the coarse fraction kaolin to be 50% finer than 3 p, while the crude kaolin is 509 f'lner than 1.4 p, and the fine fraction 50% finer than 0.46~. For comparison 53 p on the horizontal scale would represent Stokesian diameters which would just pass a 325-mesh Tyler screen, taking into consideration the Andreasen sieve correction factor of 1.22 times the screen opening. 2 Another helpful comparison is the surface areas, which in square meters per gram, are 0.044 for 53 p particles, 0.77 for 3p, 1.65 for 1.4 p and 5.0 for 0.46 p particles. ONE of the special uses to which the electric furnace has been put recently is the melting of an alloy of nickel and cast iron for the production of electrical-resistance grids. The metal sections of these grids, Fig. 1, are quite uniform for each pattern, but there is, among the various patterns, a variety of thicknesses. The cross sections vary from 1/2 by 3/16 in. to as small as 1/8 by 1/8 in. The electrical resistance f a perfect casting lies within 10 per cent. above or below the fixed listed resistance for each pattern. Good molding is essential to success in the making of these grids, for with absolutely correct metal, a variation of 0.01 in. in width and thickness of section on some of the patterns may mean as much as 12 or 14 per cent. variation in resistance. The service for which these castings are intended demands that the metal, even in the smallest castings, be very soft, showing an open, gray, highly graphitic structure in order that they may be resistant to shock, and stand up well under rough usage. The metal used for this purpose is a gray iron alloyed with 4 to 5 per cent. of nickel, which element, when the composition of the alloy is correct, imparts toughness and pliability to the metal and helps to overcome the tendency of metal to run white and become brittle because of the rapid cooling action of the sand mold. When cold, these castings can be twisted into various shapes, taking a permanent set without breaking. The alloy has approximately double the electrical resistance of ordinary cast iron. In the previous paper, the writer indicated that the arc welding of cast iron is practicable only when barium carbonate is used to retard the fusion of electrodes. Later, he tested the effects of 48 other elements, to discover the cause of their retarding action. Wrought-iron bars 33 cm. long and 0.53 cm. dia. were used as electrodes. Trace Phosphorus.............................................. 0.047 Sulfur................................................... 0.008 Each of the bars was wound with a twine of asbestos (1 mm. dia., weighing 0.5 g.) and then was coated with a mixture of equal quantities of graphite and carborundum and one of the compounds listed in the second column of Table 2. The method used in coating was as follows: The mixtures were reduced to paste by adding to them a solution of water glass (1:3); they were next put in a glass tube of 8 mm. inner diameter, with funnel-shaped mouth (the same tube shown in the previous paper); then the bars were passed through the tube so that the mixtures were coated on them. The glass tube was used only as a means of making the diameters of all coated bars exactly 8 millimeters. The cast iron was deposited on the steel plates by connecting the electrodes first to the positive and then to the negative pole of the generator. The figures representing the time, voltage, amperes and energy required to melt each electrode are given in Table 2. They are arranged in the order of the atomic weights of the elements contained in the coatings. The eleven mines of the United States Coal and Coke Co. in the Pocahontas coal field are situated in McDowell County, W. Va., which is a mountainous region. The valleys rarely exceed 200 ft. (60 m.) in width, the hillsides slope from 25°to 33°, and the tops, from 600 to 900 ft. above the valleys, carry practically no level land. At least 80 per cent. of the area is covered with timber. All the workings are drift mines; and while the average grades of the seams worked are ample for drainage, local dips and swamps necessitate the use of a large number of local pumps or of numerous drainage ditches to keep the mines free from water during heavy rains. The water handled in any mine is not great, compared with the coal output, and usually causes little trouble except during extremely wet periods. In new workings, the water encountered, except in rare cases, is trifling; it is only after rib drawing has started and the surface has been broken that water troubles begin. The strata overlying the coal are sandstone, shales, and slates; as the soil is thin and sandy, it does not tend to puddle and stop the cracks, which remain open for a long time. As mining progresses and the robbed area increases, the broken area becomes larger, increasing the openings into the mined territory. The cover over the robbed portions of the mines varies from 30 to 750 ft. (9 to 228 m.). When the ground is saturated, considerable water finds its way into the mines the day after a heavy rainfall and for three or four days it tends to fill the low places, wash the tracks, etc. and unless from three to four times as many pumps are installed as are normally needed, considerable output is lost. In most cases the water will flow from the mines, and the obvious solution is to provide drainage ditches of ample size to carry the maximum flow expected, so that the inflow will have no opportunity to flood the working places. Laying out the drainage headings on the proper average grades was an easy matter but where blasting was necessary to provide uniform grades, as was frequently the case, it was important that the maximum flow to be expected and the size of ditches to be provided should be known so that only rock work necessary to provide proper drainage
