O rompimento de pele (breakout) é considerado uma das anomalias mais danosas ao processo de lingotamento contínuo de placas de aço. Esta ocorrência, além dos riscos de segurança durante a limpeza do aço derramado, resulta em pesadas perdas de produção e danos aos equipamentos. Estima-se que o custo potencial de um rompimento de média intensidade possa atingir a cifra de US$270.000,00, considerando a perda potencial de produção, o custo de reprocessamento do material e a recomposição dos equipamentos como segmentos, moldes, etc. Portanto, tão importante quanto evitar o breakout é também reduzir as suas consequências. Dentro deste contexto visando mitigar os danos de um rompimento quando o vazamento não é imediatamente reconhecido, desenvolveu-se um sistema pneumático de detecção de vazamento na saída do molde, envolvendo os edge e foot rolls. Basicamente, o sistema é um circuito fechado constituído de tubos de pequeno diametro com gás nitrogenio pressurizado. Se ocorrer um vazamento de aço, este funde o tubo (provocando perda de pressão ou excesso de vazão) ativando o sistema de alarme de indicação de vazamento, que fecha automaticamente a válvula gaveta do distribuidor para o veio e coloca a placa em extração. Atualmente todos os moldes da ArcelorMittal Tubarão possuem este sistema visando mitigar as consequencias de um vazamento.

On the basis of liquidus measurements in the system COO-Mg0-Al2O3-Sio, and previously published data, diagrams have been constructed at 5 pct Al2O3, intervals from 5 to 35 pct Al2O3,. Liquidus temperatures and primary phase fields are shown. The optimum composition of a blast furnace slag for a given alumina content is indicated. At the optimum point, ordinary slags will be entirely liquid and will have maximum desulphurization potential and minimum viscosity. The relation of optimum composition of slags to the "plateau region" of the liquidus surface, and the application of these data on synthetic quaternary slags to actual slag compositions are discussed. Index of refraction of glasses is given as well as composition, temperature, and phase data for each mixture. THE usual blast furnace slag, as a first approximation, can be considered a mixture of the four oxides, CaO, MgO, Also,, and SiO,. Systematic, extensive data for the quaternary system, CaO-MgO-A1,0,-SiO, is therefore required for the understanding of the properties of such a slag as a function of composition and temperature. With sufficient data, it should be possible to fix unequivocably the relative amounts of lime, magnesia, and silica required for a given alumina content to result in a slag composition having optimum properties. Other constituents, such as FeO, MnO, Ti02, and S, have an effect on the properties of a slag, but as long as they are present in small and approximately constant amounts they produce only a second-order effect superimposed upon the major changes in properties of slags determined by the relative amounts of the four major components. Viscosity and desulphurization data have been reported for mixtures approaching blast furnace slags in composition, but systematic liquidus data have not been obtained. Inasmuch as a slag must be all liquid in order to be most effective as well as practicable, clearly the temperature above which a mixture is all liquid (liquidus temperature) is a type of data needed. Such data have been obtained through the study of 446 compositions and are pre- sented in this paper along with a discussion of their bearing on the optimum composition of blast furnace slags. For an orderly presentation of the data, the quaternary system is viewed as a tetrahedron with one component at each apex. Fig. 1 shows a tetrahedron representing the system Ca0-Mg0-A1,0,-Si0,. Coarse silica flotation from intermediate pebble (IP) product has been carried out a pilot plant Dual Extraction Column (DEC) at an operational phosphate mine in Central Florida. The solids feed rate ranged from 4.16 – 5.3 TPH while the amine dosages ranged from 0.32 – 0.93 lb/T. The optimum amine dosage when using recycled process water was deter-mined to be 0.6 lb/T. With a feed containing 40-45 BPL and 38-45% insol, the results show that the IP can be upgraded to 56-61 BPL and insol of 16-22% at 85-90% BPL recovery. The results show that the DEC is an effective device for flotation of coarse silica from the IP. The advantages of upgrading the IP prior blending with the pebble are presented and discussed.

The production of high strength iron ore sinter for blast furnace iron making unit was developed by optimizing the granulometry of less than − 0.150 mm fines in sinter base mix which consists of iron ore fines (− 10 mm size with 0.150 mm: 41%), beneficiation plant jig concentrate, i.e., washed ore (− 3 + 0.150 mm size with − 0.150 mm 3 to 9%), beneficiation plant concentrate (− 0.150 mm size 97%), limestone, dolomite, coke breeze, lime, sinter return fines, direct reduced iron (DRI plant) fines, and micropellets produced from steel plant waste. The sintering process consists of preparation of base mix, mixing, and production of nodules using mixing and nodulizing drum by maintaining the optimum moisture, transferring of nodules to the sintering machine, and firing of sinter by applying optimum suction pressure. To optimize the < 0.150 mm fines in sinter base mix, the − 10-mm size iron ore fines was replaced with washed ore. The size analysis, granulation index (G index), and optimization of moisture w.r.t. sinter bed permeability were carried out by varying the washed ore addition from 0 to 55% in sinter base mix to vary the − 0.150 mm fine size. With decrease in washed ore addition from 55 to 0% in sinter base mix the finer fraction, i.e., − 0.150 mm in sinter base mix increased from 9.4 to 26.7%. Granulation (G) index increased from 1.46 to 3.10, sinter bed permeability increased from 33 to 53 Japanese Permeability Unit (JPU), and balling index increased from 1.4 to 3.0. With increase in − 0.150 mm fines in the sinter base mix from 9.4 to 26.7%, the sinter tumbler index (T.I) increased and sinter reduction degradation index (RDI) decreased. Increase in sinter strength and decrease in sinter RDI was due to increase in formation of Silico ferrite of calcium and aluminium (SFCA) phase and decrease in pore phase. The SFCA is the main bonding phase in iron ore sinter, and it provides strength to sinter. Sinter base mix with − 0.150 mm fines 18.9% (washed ore addition 25%) achieved desired sinter properties with moisture 8.0%, G index 2.44, balling index 2.3, and sinter bed permeability > 45JPU. Decreased the sinter properties with washed ore addition in sinter base mix beyond 25% due to decrease in − 0.150 mm fines in sinter base mix. Further, to improve the sinter properties with washed ore 30 to 45%, 3 to 10% beneficiation plant concentrate, i.e., − 0.150 mm fines was added to maintain the 18.9% of − 0.150 mm fines in sinter base mix. From the laboratory sintering studies, it was found that minimum 18.9% (range from 18.9 to 26.7%) − 0.150 mm fines should be maintained in the sinter base mix to achieve desired sinter properties.

Produtos químicos são os ingredientes essenciais para os processos de tratamento de águas e efluentes. A GDU consome mais de 30 produtos químicos diferentes utilizados em suas 17 estações de tratamento de água e efluentes distribuídas em toda a Usina Presidente Vargas (UPV). A gestão dos estoques dos produtos químicos, acompanhada do consumo padrão de cada um, contribuem para a garantia da qualidade da água tratada e no custo de tratamento de cada ETE. Por outro lado, a falta ou a deficiência de um sistema de gerenciamento acarreta em descontroles dos parâmetros de qualidade da água e aumenta custos por imprevisibilidades no processo, podendo inclusive causar danos aos processos clientes. O grupo em conjunto implantou um sistema de gerenciamento visual dos estoques de produtos químicos em cada área de sua responsabilidade, pois foi evidenciado muitas ocorrências de descontrole da qualidade da água devido à falta de produtos químicos na área, e como consequência, elevados pedidos de produtos químicos em emergência. A principal ação tomada para a implantação desse sistema de gerenciamento de produtos químicos foi estabelecer, por meio de gráficos de controle, um sistema de gerenciamento visual, permitindo conhecer, acompanhar e prever o consumo e data de novos pedidos. Dentre os benefícios da implantação deste trabalho, podemos citar: a) Efetivação dos pedidos de produtos químicos com antecedência; b) Entregas programadas na data de necessidade, com estabelecimento de nível de estoque de segurança de produto nas áreas; c) Redução do número de solicitações de produtos químicos em emergências; d) Envolvimento dos operadores nos consumos e controles de estoques de produtos químicos, através do sistema de gerenciamento; e) Parâmetros de qualidade da água estabilizados; f) Redução do risco de interferência nos clientes por má qualidade da água; g) Redução de desperdícios; h) Custos evitados com transportes e multas ambientais.

A exposição excessiva ao sol tem contribuído de forma significativa para o desenvolvimento de catarata, envelhecimento precoce, câncer de pele, agravamento de algumas dermatoses, dentre outras doenças, trazendo impacto negativo sobre a qualidade de vida dos indivíduos. Protetores solares, vestimentas e acessórios são frequentemente utilizados como forma de prevenção para os efeitos nocivos da radiação ultravioleta. No entanto alguns tipos de tecidos não proporcionam proteção suficiente. Novos produtos têxteis, com a incorporação de partículas de filtro solares inorgânicos, tem sido alvo de diferentes observações científicas. Esta pesquisa objetivou avaliar a eficiência de tecidos sintéticos, utilizados como filtro solar, cuja base do material é a poliamida. Os tecidos foram caracterizados pelos métodos de Microscopia Ótica- MO; Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura –MEV; Espectroscopia por Energia Dispersiva (EDS); Difração de Raios X- DRX; Espectroscopia na Região do Infravermelho com Transformada de Fourier-FTIR e Calorimetria Exploratória Diferencial (DSC). Resultados mostram que com a incorporação da biocerâmica, mostram propriedades relevantes, contra os efeitos nocivos da radiação solar, quando comparados ao tecido sem incorporação da mesma. As roupas protetoras pode ser uma estratégia efetiva na proteção contra os danos causados pela exposição excessiva a radiação solar, durante a exposição a esse tipo de radiação.

A utilização de revestimentos a base de cromo eletrolítico traz prejuízos ao meio ambiente, uma vez que durante o processo são liberados íons de cromo hexavalente e estes são extremamente tóxicos à natureza e ao homem. No entanto, existem outras tecnologias que vem sendo estudadas como alternativas ao processo tradicional de cromagem. A aspersão térmica por oxi-combustível de alta velocidade (HVOF) é a técnica que tem apresentado os melhores resultados sob as óticas de qualidade de revestimento, porosidade, resistência ao desgaste, propriedades mecânicas e adesivas. Neste trabalho foi realizado um estudo comparativo da eficácia da técnica de HVOF em termos de adesão, resistência ao desgaste e coeficiente de atrito. Como substrato foi utilizado o aço SAE 4140; o revestimento utilizado na aspersão por HVOF foi o WC-Co-Cr em comparação como o cromo eletroliticamente depositado, todos com a mesma espessura de camada. A avaliação tribológica foi realizada através de ensaios de desgaste por deslizamento do tipo pino sobre disco e a resistência adesiva por meio de ensaio de adesão.

Emissions from pyrometallurgical processing of copper concentrates are usually subjected to wet scrubbing. The washing sulphuric acid so produced contains up to 0.2 g/L of rhenium, which is recovered by solvent extraction in the form of crude ammonia permeate (NH4ReO4). The mother liquor, obtained from the sulfuric acid wash, contains up to 35 g/L of rhenium and significant amounts of impurities. Crude rhenium salt is commonly processed by double recrystallization to produce marketable salt. A ton of high grade NH4ReO4 can be produced using 3.0-3.5 m3 of mother liquor. We propose an efficient technology of mother liquor pre-treatment aimed at removal of water-soluble organics with subsequent electrodialysis. Electrodialysis of mother liquor in a multichamber electrodialyzer resulted in the production of pure rhenium acid, from which a marketable NH4ReO4 is precipitated using ammonia solution. Multiple steps of recycling consisting of dissolution of NH4ReO4 salt, rhenium acid production from NH4ReO4 salt by electrodialysis and precipitation of NH4ReO4 from rhenium acid made it possible to upgrade the purity of obtained rhenium compounds by 1-2 orders of magnitude. A rhenium metal powder of 99.997% purity was produced by high-temperature reduction of high-purity NH4ReO4 with gaseous hydrogen. Rhenium metal powder of high purity can be produced from sulfate solutions of NH4ReO4 by non-platinum anode-based membrane electrolysis processes also. "Al-Sc Alloys have showed many advanced properties for a wide range of industrial application, which is usually produced using thermal reduction process. This work is aimed to develop an electrochemical process to make Al-Sc alloy using industrial Hall aluminum reduction cells. The experiments have been carried out in a lab cell where NaF/AlF3-Al2O3-LiF as electrolyte, Sc2O3 as raw material, and liquid aluminum as cathode were used at operating temperature of 950 °C. The resulting Al contained 0.2 - 0.5 wt.% Sc that is the common range in its content for advanced applications. However, a small fraction of Sc was found from thermal reduction at Al melts interface. SEM-EDS and ICP-AES analysis showed a uniformed distribution of Sc at varying locations of the Al-Sc alloy sample. In addition, a higher Sc content in Al-Sc alloy can be obtained with introducing ultrasound through the cathode than that without it.IntroductionIn recent years, scandium has been investigated as an alloying element for aluminum alloys. With addition of a small amount of Sc, Al alloys can improve the strength, weld ability, resistance to re-crystallization and corrosion resistance [1-3]. Due to their advanced properties and potential applications, the demand for Al-Sc alloys will increase in the future. However, the difficulties in reduction technologies and the high costs in production process may limit their expansion in application areas.The current major method of producing Al-Sc alloys is to mix Sc into Al by melting Al-Sc master alloy. This alloying process has several technical problems, such as easy segregating and heavy burning loss, etc. The price of Sc metal or starting material is also high, so the mixing process is an expensive alloying method. Molten salt electrolysis is alternative method to prepare RE metal and RE alloys [4, 5]. It also can reduce the segregation of alloying elements. Sc2O3 is an ideal material as raw material with low price and decomposition voltage. Some work has proved that Al-Sc alloys can be obtained by electrolysis Sc2O3 directly in cryolite [6-8], or CaCl2 molten salt [9]."

The solid miscibility gap between CaO and "FeO" in the system CaO-"FeO" in contact with metallic iron gradually closes as MnO is added as a third component. On the liquidus surface of the system CaO-"FeO"-MnO, this situation gives rise to a boundary curve which originates in the bounding system CaO-&apos;&apos;FeO", proceeds a short distance into the composition triangle of the ternary system, and then vanishes. A new approach has been used to follow the course of this boundary curve. It is shown that the curve vanishes at a much lower temperature and at much lower MnO contents than has been inferred previously. The oxides CaO, "FeO", and MnO together with SiO2 are the major components of the slag phase formed in the basic oxygen process. Hence, the system CaO-"Fe0"-MnO is of considerable technological interest. In addition, the system is theoretically interesting. The three oxides above all have sodium chloride structure. The size differences among the cations are such that in the bounding "binary"* systems CaO-MnO and "FeO"-MnO complete solid-solution series are formed,1,2 whereas in the system CaO-"FeO" there is only limited mutual solubility in the solid state,3 see Fig. 1. Hence, a solid miscibility gap exists in a part of the "ternary"* system Ca0-"Fe0"-Mn0, and a liquidus boundary curve originates at the peritectic point, point a in the insert in Fig. 1, in the system CaO-"FeO", extends a certain distance into the ternary system, and then vanishes. Very little quantitative information on the system Ca0-"Fe0"-Mn0 is available in previous literature. Fischer and Feischer4 sketched isothermal sections at 1600° and 1700°C, and estimated that the vanishing boundary curve extends to approximately 1650°C and a composition of 42 wt pct MnO. The work to be described in the following was aimed at locating experimentally the "vanishing" liquidus boundary curve, determining its end point, and deriving representative isothermal sections below and above the temperature of the end point of this curve. EXPERIMENTAL METHODS The phase relations were determined by the well-known quenching method. (For a description of this method as applied to oxide systems, see the original paper of Shepherd, Rankin, and wright.5) Prereacted oxide mixtures of desired compositions were contained in iron crucibles and heated in a vertical tube furnace in an atmosphere of purified nitrogen. After equilibrium was judged to have been attained, the samples were quenched to room temperature, the phases present were identified by microscopic and X-ray examination, and total iron oxide contents were determined by chemical analysis. "Fisher Certified" reagents (MnCO3, CaCO3, Fe2O3, and Fe) served as starting materials. The calcium carbonate and ferric oxide were heated in air at 400° and 800°C, respectively, for 24 hr prior to use. Manganese oxide was prepared by decomposing the carbonate in a graphite crucible in hydrogen atmosphere at 1000°C. The product was ground under acetone to -100 mesh. The iron powder was used directly without any preparation. Dicalcium ferrite was used as a starting material for some mixtures. It is shown that SO3-O2 mixtures react with sphalerite at an appreciable rate ill the temperature range of 361° to 527°C to fornz ZnSO4. The rate of reaction follows a parabolle lax. Oxygen, or O2-SO2 mixtures, have a negligible effect on sphalcrite in the same temperatuee range. PRACTICAL roasting of sphalerite is usually performed at 800°C or higher. The calcine is composed of zinc oxide unless the roaster atmosphere contains relatively large amounts of SO2 and the temperature is held to 800oC or lower, in which case zinc sul-fate may also form. Ong, Wadsworth, and assell&apos; have made a careful kinetic study of sphalerite oxidation under these "normal conditions" and have concluded that the rate of the reaction is controlled by the decomposition of an activated complex adsorbed on the sphalerite surface. They found the rate of oxidation to be small at 700°C. Extrapolation of their data to 400°C would indicate an almost negligible rate at this temperature. In our work sphalerite was reacted with air, mixtures of SO2, O2, and N2, and mixtures of SO3, O2, and N2 in the temperature range 361o to 527OC. Negligible rates of oxidation were found, except for the gas mixtures containing SOs. With this latter gas, the oxidation of finely divided sphalerite was fairly rapid and zinc sulfate was the product. Based on the limited evidence available, the rate of sphalerite oxidation by SO3 is postulated to be controlled by gaseous diffusion through pores or cracks in the zinc-sulfate coating. This evidence for the direct reaction of sphalerite and SO, at low temperature may prove of importance to the understanding of zinc-sulfate formation in the dust-collecting equipment usually associated with zinc roasters. The roaster gas carries off fine dust, much of which may be unreacted sphalerite. The temperature in dust-collecting equipment drops from the roaster temperature (about 800°C) through the range of temperature we studied, to ambient temperature. Such dusts are known to contain far larger amounts of zinc sulfate than the primary calcine. It has been assumed in the past that this sulfate is formed by reaction of ZnO dust with SO3 (or SO, plus 0,) in the partly cooled gases. Our work shows that an alternative possibility exists—the direct reaction of SO3 with ZnS dust. EXPERIMENTAL Reaction rates for sphalerite at 350° to 600°C are relatively small so that it was necessary to use finely divided material with a relatively large surface area in order to obtain measureable amounts of reaction. In the preliminary experiments, pure mineral sphalerite, ground to pass a 325-mesh sieve, and chemically precipitated ZnS (in the form of an impalpable powder) were used. In the quantitative rate experiments the ground mineral sphalerite was processed in an Infrasizer to obtain a product with particle size between 9 and 18 µ. The analysis of this material was 66.7 pct Zn, 0.09 pct Fe, and 32.7 pct S (theoretical sphalerite is 67.1 pct Zn, 32.9 pct S). The sized powder was carefully mixed and divided into l-g samples. The apparatus used for the quantitative rate measurements is shown in Fig. 1. For the preliminary experiments the following change was made: The external catalyst furnace (B, C)* was not used. *Letters refer to Fig._______1 .___- Rather, when catalysis of the SO2 + O2 reaction was desired, the glass beads in basket M were replaced by vanadium-oxide pellets. Procedure—A l-g sample of ZnS was placed on a shallow stainless-steel tray, I, and spread evenly to a depth of about 1mm. The tray was placed in the reaction assembly and the assembly inserted in the cold furnace. The furnace tube was flushed with dry argon and then heated to the desired reaction temperature. The temperature was controlled to ±0.5oC. Today, we employ 22,000 people across 19 countries and have 14 mines including open pits, shafts, beach-sands and seabed. 1.2. Last year our sales were US$5.7 billion and our total production amounted to 47 million carats which means a 40% global market share. For the Kyoto buffs in the audience, the company consumes 66 million cubic metres of water per annum, 210 million litres of hydrocarbon fuel and 1,600 GWh of electricity. The peculiar conditions under which lead and silver ores are now smelted in Salt Lake Valley, Utah, render it advantageous to make slags that are siliceous and carry a high percentage of lime. The ores treated come from Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada; nine-tenths coming from Utah. These ores are siliceous, and contain but little fluxing material; the iron present scarcely sufficing for the sulphur and arsenic. Formerly ores high in iron were furnished from Cottonwood Canons, but this supply is meagre. The ores from Idaho, Montana, and Nevada are high grade galenas, more or less impure. They generally require a large amount of iron for the sulphur, arsenic, and antimony. In the winter and spring of 1880—&apos;81, we were treating at the Germania Works principally Bingham Canon lead ores and silver ores from Tintic. The former contained 15 to 30 per cent. silica, and only 4 to 5 per cent. iron (generally as iron pyrites); they ranged high in lead and low in silver, and carried more or less alumina; the lead was present chiefly as carbonate. The silver ores from Tintic contained sulphides, and ran as high as 80 per cent. silica. We had been running on a slag approximating 40 per cent. FeO, 20 per cent. CaO, 10 per cent. other bases, and 30 per cent. SiO2, which had heretofore been very satisfactory; but with the class of ores then coming in it was of the utmost advantage to use less iron and more lime, especially as the iron ore (50-55 per cent. iron and 5-7 per cent. silica) cost four times as much as the limestone (50-55 per cent. lime, 3-5 per cent. silica). The large amount of alumina in the slag influenced them for the worse; the addition of lime to the charge helped them, and after many experiments regarding the proportion of FeO, CaO, and SiO2, a slag approximating 35 per cent. Recent investigations of the molybdenum-carbon alloys have been reported by Becker and Ebertl,‡ Westgren and Phragmén2, T. Takei3, and H. Tutiya4. Takei3 studied the Mo-C system by employing metal-lographic and X-ray methods, and the other publications described the determination of the crystal structure of the molybdenum carbides. In exploring this system by a technique previously applied to the tungsten-carbon series5, the results of Takei were confirmed with two definite exceptions; i.e., first the composition of the eutectic, and second the nature of the carbon-rich intermediate phase. Consequently, a more thorough examination of the molybdenum-carbon constitution was initiated in an effort to correlate the data supplied by the microstructures, diffraction patterns and chemical analyses. Metallographic Investigation A briquette of molybdenum powder when heated in a carburizing atmosphere at 1500" to 1600" C. for several hours develops the carbon-rich layer shown in Fig. 1. The carburization was accomplished by placing the briquette in a carbon tube, which was heated in the hydrogen atmosphere of an alundum muffle wound with tungsten resistor. While the macrostructure indicates two distinct shells, and suggests the possibility of two carbon-rich phases, no evidence of this condition could be detected by the microscope, which revealed but one high-carbon constituent. This carbide forms next to the molybdenum as a relatively dense, light-colored zone (Fig. 2) which passes abruptly into an outer layer of spongy texture. As will be noted later, only one intermediate phase was observed in the X-ray photograms prepared of different locations in the carburized zone. Viscosities of alkaline metal oxide-silicate melts were estimated using our previously developed mathematical model. The structural based model considers depolymerization effects and related breakdown of the silicate network structure, on the addition of metal oxides to the melt. The developed expression: n =4.9x10 9 NO 0 T ½ exp(E/RT) poise was used to calculate the viscosities of various binary silicate systems such as, CaO-SiO,, MgO-SiO, and MnO-SiO,, as a function of temperature and composition. Excellent agreement was obtained between the calculated and experimentally determined viscosities.

Diversos são os defeitos que ocorrem durante o lingotamento contínuo dos aços. Um tipo de defeito de forma recorrente encontrado no lingotamento contínuo de jato aberto da ArcelorMittal Cariacica é a romboidade. O foco deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência da velocidade da água de refrigeração do molde, da velocidade de lingotamento, da lubrificação, do superheat e da conicidade na ocorrência de romboidade em aços de médio teor de carbono. Por meio da técnica de planejamento de experimentos, testes foram realizados para melhor compreender os efeitos de cada um dos fatores listados. Após análise estatística feita no MINITAB® versão 16.0, os resultados mostraram que a melhor condição, ou seja, as menores romboidades, foram encontradas reduzindo-se o superheat e aumentando-se a velocidade da água de refrigeração do molde, a velocidade de lingotamento e a taxa de lubrificação. O uso de moldes com menor número de corridas foi também outro fator que favoreceu a redução deste tipo de defeito.

A projeção de escória do BOF (Basic Oxygen Furnace) ocorre a partir da formação da emulsão, a qual provoca expulsão de escória se o volume da mesma aumenta em demasia. Esse fenômeno gera algumas preocupações para uma aciaria, como diminuição da eficácia do refino, perdas financeiras, perda de material, riscos de acidentes e principalmente problemas ambientais. Arquivos de Big Data da ArcelorMittal Tubarão foram estudados para que fosse possível a identificação das causas principais das projeções a partir de estudos estatísticos de análises multivariadas, técnicas ainda pouco usuais para estudos na área de aciaria. Foram utilizados os softwares Statistica, Genes, e Rbio com novas propostas de utilização de ferramentas desta área, como a análise de componentes principais e a análise de trilha e análise de rede de correlações. Foi possível verificar, por exemplo, que o peso de briquete misto adicionado durante o sopro e o teor de silício no gusa carregado estão entre as principais causas de projeção.

The suggested new method for control of geomechanical state of undermined rock mass ensures, as a safety measure for the earth surface protection, the decrease of deformations by 2,5 - 10 times in mining the single seam, and by 1,5 - 5 times - in mining bed series, i. e. approximately within the seam ranges as in the application of full packing with various compressive properties or partial extraction of resources over the area with different coefficients of extraction. It should be noted that this new method has the following advantages o\w rhr. conventional methods: a) the decrease of the packing area and packing works volume by 2 - 4 fold including the operating and productive expenses; b) the elimination of mineral losses due to the increase of extraction coefficient up to 100 5%; c) rock utilization from workings drivage by its placing in the mined - out space. Perspective field of application of this method: disconservation of mineral resources in the left protective pillars of various designation.
